Sometimes some people really touch your life, leaving a lasting impact, more than you touch their life with your camera, Matthew was one of those people.
Matthew, 20 years old, from The Gambia.
Matthew lost his mother when he was very young and lived with his father, brother and sisters in The Gambia; he felt it was his duty to be the man who provided for his family and help his father, so he started out on his journey to Europe with the fire and drive in his heart to make it in the art or music industry; into Afro-rap he feels this is a way he is able to express himself and his life story, thus far. Matthew’s love of learning languages sees him speak French, English, Italian and five native tongue languages. Arriving in Paris two years ago in a journey that saw him taken in and cared for by a family in Mali en route; following his heart, dreams and ambitions though, he continued from Mali into Europe and onto Paris, currently living in a hostel Matthew is still awaiting his official papers. Matthew’s father sadly passed away in The Gambia.
